Quiz Format
Introduction
The quiz is played in teams of 4 players, and usually 3 matches are played per evening. Each match typically lasts 20-30 minutes and most venues provide food for the players which is served between the second and third match.
The first match normally commences at around 8.45pm and the evening is completed at around 10.45pm
Each match consists of 6 rounds:
Round One - Team General Knowledge
This is a team round. Each team is asked a question and is able to confer. 5 points are awarded for a correct answer. If the team is incorrect, the opposing team may give an immediate answer for a 3 point bonus. There are 6 questions per team in this round
Round Two - Blockbusters
Individual round. Each player chooses a number from 1-8 and is given the corresponding question. This question is in the form of "Blockbusters" whereby the initial letter of the answer is revealed. Again, 5 points for a correct answer and the opposing player can pick up a 3 point bonus.
Round Three - Head to head buzzer, subject round
Head to head subject buzzer. Each pair of players is offered a question on a given subject. The player to hit their buzzer first gets the opportunity to answer. 5 points are awarded for a correct answer but 3 points are automatically given to the opposing side for an incorrect answer or a "fatal" hesitation. Once all 4 pairs have been offered a question, the process begins again until all pairs have been offered 3 questions.
Round Four - Individual General Knowledge
Each player is given a general knowledge question. 5 points for a correct answer. A 3 point bonus is offered to the opposing player for incorrect answers.
Round Five - Triple Option
Team round. The team that is trailing at this point is given a choice of 3 subjects. They are then asked 4 questions on that topic. Teams are allowed to confer and 5 points are awarded for correct answers. 3 point bonuses are offered for incorrect answers. The opposing team then get to choose one of the remaining 2 topics.
Round Six - Head to Head Buzzer
Head to head subject buzzer. Each pair of players isoffered 2 questions. The player to hit their buzzer first gets the opportunity to answer. 5 points are awarded for a correct answer but 3 points are automatically given to the opposing side for an incorrect answer or a "fatal" hesitation.

This is a team round. Each team is asked a question and is able to confer. 5 points are awarded for a correct answer. If the team is incorrect, the opposing team may give an immediate answer for a 3 point bonus.
